The international Slovak-Czech-Austrian project entitled "International Cooperation for Professional Training in Heritage Conservation I " (project acronym: Heritage Train) aimed to contribute to the development and improvement of further education in the field of protection of tangible cultural heritage. The project was funded by the EU programme, Erasmus+ and implemented in the period December 2019 - August 2022.

The objectives of the project were as follows:

1. To contribute to the development and modernisation of professional training in the care of tangible cultural heritage using international cooperation SK-AT-CZ.

2.     To develop a comparative analysis of training opportunities in the field of protection and care of cultural heritage in each country (SK, CZ, AT).

3.     Design a system of quality training programmes for the following target groups:

- craftsmen,

- staff of heritage institutions,

- employees of local and regional government,

- owners of cultural monuments,

- architects and civil engineers,

- restorers.

The project was carried out by Academia Istropolitana Nova from the Slovak Republic, the Czech partner was the Faculty of Restoration at the University of Pardubice (the principal investigator for the FR UPCE was Ing. Bayer Karol) and the Austrian partner was the Association for the Promotion of Monument Care in Mauerbach linked to the Austrian Monument Office "Verein Förderung der Baudenkmalpflege".

In the Czech Republic, the project was implemented in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute in Prague and its results will be used in the development of a system of further training for the staff of the Heritage Institute, staff of relevant departments of municipal and regional authorities and other target groups important in the process of cultural heritage protection.

The output of the project is a proposal of curricula of educational programmes and training for the above mentioned target groups. One of the project activities is also a comparative analysis of training opportunities in the field of cultural heritage protection and development in individual countries (outlines of training programmes and training for the target groups).
