INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE OCCASION OF 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF TEACHING RESTORATION IN LITOMYŠL

Quo vadis, cultural heritage preservation was the title of the event organised by the University of Pardubice, Faculty of Restoration in cooperation with the association for cultural heritage preservation Arte-fakt in November 2018 in Litomyšl. This international conference was held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of teaching restoration in Litomyšl. This anniversary is of the utmost importance for us, because a quarter of a century ago, the restoration school was founded in Litomyšl, which over the years of dynamic development has become a respected and established institution - the Faculty of Restoration - operating in the field of heritage care - restoration, research and education. The past quarter of a century has been characterized by rapid development of the field of conservation - restoration as a whole, not only in Litomyšl and the Czech Republic, but also in the world. Restoration is becoming more and more closely connected with other fields of human activity, such as technical fields, humanities or science. The main motive and goal of the conference was to support this development and current trends in the field of cultural heritage protection.
The outcome of the conference is a collection of papers, which is available for purchase in the FR UPCE e-shop.
