Jakub Ďoubal were invited to Israel to share research results and practical experience in the use of nanomaterials for the consolidation of stone, architectural surfaces and murals.
The lectures were complemented by case studies from selected restoration projects and a practical demonstration of application. The workshop for students and professionals in the field of conservation was held at the Western Galilee College campus in the city of Akko, north of Tel Aviv.
The faculty of the Faculty of Restoration also visited Jerusalem, where they had the opportunity to discuss the ongoing restoration work and the overall renovation of the Tower of David - the citadel in the historic center of the city. The discussion was attended by representatives of the design and construction supervision of the project office Schaffer & Ronen Engineers Ltd. as well as representatives of the Israel Antiquities Authority.
Discussions were also held on specific possibilities of further cooperation, especially student and academic mobility and exchange of experience in the field of heritage conservation. The workshop was prepared on the basis of a meeting between Dr. Rina Wassermann from Western Galilee College and Dr. Jan Vojtěchovský (Vice Dean for International Cooperation).
