Quo vadis, cultural heritage preservation, was the title of the event organized by the University of Pardubice, Faculty of Restoration in cooperation with Arte-fakt, an association for cultural heritage preservation, in November 2018, in Litomyšl, the Czech Republic. This international conference was held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the teaching of restoration in Litomyšl. This anniversary is of the most importance for us because a quarter of a century ago the school of restoration was founded in Litomyšl, the school which, through the years of a dynamic development, became a respected and well established institution - the Faculty of Restoration - active in the field of conservation - restoration, research and education. The past quarter-century has been characterized by the rapid development of the field of conservation - restoration as a whole, not only in Litomyšl and the Czech Republic, but also all over the world. Restoration has become more closely interconnected with other areas of human activity, such as technical branches, humanities or science. The main motif, as well as the aim of the conference, was to promote such development and current trends in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
