The main aim of the project is to compare the consolidation effect of several consolidation media which are commonly been used for consolidation of paint layer. The consolidants will be tested on large-scale panels with paint layer imitating two major degradation phenomena - powdering and flaking. The assessment comprises handling properties, visual assessment and testing of selected mechanical and physical properties. The results will be summarized as recommendations for practical ussage of these materials. The main stress will be given on discussion of limits and possible negative effects on the paint layer.
