The project deals with the testing of different painting systems currently used for the surface treatment of the facades of the buildings and architecture. The testing will provide information about its physical and mechanical properties which are critical for the painting system assessment and the influence of the application field of the treatment (e.g. capillarity, water vapour permeability, adhesion and cohesion). The determination of the proper application will be most important of application conditions, critical discussion on the limits of the treatments will be also highly important). The last part of the research will be focused on the removability of the paintings from the surface of the model substrates by means of several commonly used cleaning methods. The paintings will be applied on one type of a historic substrate ? early type of concrete ? which is currently restored in the frame of the diploma work of the student.
