Václav Bernard Ambroz (1723 - 1808) was a court painter of Empress Maria Theresa and used to be considered as a leading artist. Today, however, almost nothing is known about him and his painting and restoration work. Using literature, archival and field research, this project will attempt to rectify this unsatisfactory state. The results of the project will include a part of a master student thesis, published paper and an electronic catalogue of the artist's works.
