Description:
Within the project a series of application tests of various types of the most common retouch binders for oil paintings shall be carried out. The emphasis will be put above all on the combined technique of aquarelle and its subsequent completion by means of oil, resin or oil-resin paints. To prove that the technology is appropriate test specimen on inorganic base shall be created, paint layer with the chosen binders shall be applied followed by aging process simulation. The objective is to assess the most suitable technology in terms of stability (colour shifts, changes of structure) and its subsequent reversibility.
