Workplace: Fakulta restaurování - Katedra chemické technologie FR

Description:
Part of the students' projects during the study at the Faculty of Restoration (term papers, Bachelor's and Master's thesis, student research projects) is a material survey of artistic handicraft works. The student projects are often focused also on material-science related topics including systematic study of historical or modern technologies that take place in laboratory conditions on a series of model samples. After the survey of restored objects or finishing the testing in laboratory conditions, for many reasons, real or model samples should be deposited. These samples are often used for various purposes in the training courses, in particular for: extending or validating an existing survey, creating a fund of comparative materials usable in future projects, creating a fund / database of samples of historical materials, demonstration / proof of historical techniques and materials used in lectures, using the model samples for following student projects. The system of archiving and storing all types of samples is important for their storage under controlled conditions, easy access and safe handling. The project will focus on creating a sample storage system and selecting, purchasing and installing the necessary technical equipment.
