Description:
Practical teaching of restoration of stone artworks and related materials takes place on real works of art, often outside the workplaces of the Faculty of Restoration. The main objective is to innovate studio teaching and to provide adequate equipment for performing micro abrasive cleaning and working with pneumatic tools in the field (on scaffolding). Existing equipment is out-of-date and the appropriate equipment is needed, in particular the mobile micro-blasting equipment, a portable high-performance compressor and a lightweight portable scaffolding, to enable the use of existing studio equipment in the field for in-situ restoration. This equipment will be used for practical teaching of in-situ cleaning methods within the subjects of Restoration and Conservation of Stone and Related Materials I-IV, i.e. for the restoration of historical monuments within coursework and final works.
