eng	Restoration of Ancient Sculptures in Early Modern Rome	Restoration, as a formal and artistic interpretation of the surviving fragments of ancient sculpture, is a unique phenomenon and manifestation of the relationship of early modern society to the ancient past. The publication is devoted to the key period from the early 16th century to the late 18th century, when the practice of interpretative restoration was developed especially in Rome. The text focuses both on the development of techniques and procedures, and the ideological and cultural context of restoration practice.
