Kniha se zpola věnuje historii a zpola výtvarné kultuře spjaté s životem slavného generála. Vojevůdce, působící v 18. století ve službách Marie Terezie a jejích synů Josefa II. a Leopolda II. a budící hrůzu v řadách nepřítele, se z majora během tří let vyšvihl do hodnosti podmaršála, za svoji kariéru dosáhl nejvyšších vojenských poct a roku 1778 byl jmenován polním maršálem. Kniha vzpomíná také mnohá místa v Čechách, na Moravě a ve Slezsku spjatá s tímto válečníkem. Kromě dějišť Laudonových vítězství je vzpomenuta také jeho zámecká rezidence Bečváry nebo Nový Jičín, kde slavný šlechtic zemřel. Laudonův bečvárský pobyt je rozebrán v kontextu výtvarné kultury. eng	General Laudon	The monography depicts not only a significant personality and his life but also the evidence that can be tracked down in our history, local geography and art. About half of the book deals with history, the other part is devoted to art culture related to the life of the famous general. The military leader, who served Marie Terezie and her sons, Joseph II and Leopold II in the 18th century and who was considered to be redoubtable by his enemies, was promoted from the function of a major to a vice marshal within a period of three years. He won the highest military honours and in 1778 he was appointed the field marshal. The book describes a lot of places in Bohemia, Moravia and Selezia related to the warrior. Besides other scenes of Laudon’s victories, his castle residences in Bečváry or Nový Jičín are mentioned, where the renown aristocrat died. Laudon’s stay in Bečváry is analysed in the context of fine arts and culture.	general Laudon;history;history of art;the 18th century;Czech lands
