eng	The Potential Use of Modified Natural Cement as an Adhesive for Sandstone Heritage Conservation	This research investigates the potential of natural cements modified with cellulose ether as an adhesive for sandstone bonding in heritage conservation. Most common synthetic adhesives, such as epoxy resins, offer excellent bonding properties but have limitations. Natural cements present a promising alternative. This study evaluates two commercial natural cements modified with varying concentrations of methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose Tylose® MH300, assessing workability, bonding strength, and water retention of the tested mixtures. These modified pastes were tested with a four- point bending test and capillary water uptake to assess water permeability. Results indicate that even low levels of Tylose MH300 enhanced workability and adhesion while maintaining strength and permeability. The best-performing mixture was verified in the restoration of a sandstone statue, with ongoing monitoring of its effectiveness. This study shows that modified Roman cement can serve as an inorganic bonding alternative to epoxy resins specifically for stone conservation in outdoor settings.
