Preventivní konzervování, zajištění a ochrana cyklu nástěnných maleb v Emauzském klášteře v Praze Ve dnech 22. a 23. 5. 2025 proběhlo v Emauzském opatství mezinárodní kolokvium, jež shrnulo poznatky z restaurátorských a přírodovědných průzkumů prováděných na nástěnných malbách nacházejících se v ambitu kláštera. Zkoumání proběhlo nejnovějšími metodami v oboru, z nichž některé dosud nebyly v této kvalitě v České republice použity. Kromě výsledků průzkumů byly také diskutovány možnosti dalšího uchování a prezentace emauzských maleb. Na kolokviu promluvili renomování odborníci z oboru restaurování a památkové péče, a to jak z Česka, tak i ze zahraničí. Mezi nimi byli například německá památkářka Dr. phil. Dörthe Jakobs z Leitung Fachgebiet Restaurierung (a.D.), Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Baden-Württemberg, nebo italský restaurátor Alberto Felici z Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio per la città metropolitana di Firenze e le province di Pistoia e Prato. Na projektu se podílí dvě německé vysoké školy, konkrétně Technische Hochschule Köln a Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart společně s českou Fakultou restaurování Univerzity Pardubice. Projekt nese název „Koncepce preventivní konzervace, zajištění a uchování cyklu nástěnných maleb v křížové chodbě Emauzského kláštera v Praze“, což naznačuje jeho směřování. Projekt je financovaný německou státní nadací Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (Německá spolková nadace pro životní prostředí). Přestože se nadace věnuje primárně financování vědeckých projektů z oblasti životního prostředí, financuje také výzkum s tímto zaměřením v oblasti kulturního dědictví. Zkoumané nástěnné malby se nacházejí v Praze, v ambitu kláštera Na Slovanech, pocházejí z doby vlády císaře Karla IV., datovány jsou do 60. až 70. let 14. století. Malby jsou unikátní tím, že jde o velmi rozsáhlý cyklus čítající dnes 26, původně však 33 maleb. Podobných realizací je dnes ve střední Evropě minimum. Malby navíc vykazují vysokou uměleckou kvalitu, což souvisí s tím, že v době vzniku byla Praha kulturním centrem Svaté říše Římské. Preventive conservation, securing and preservation of the cycle of murals in the Emmaus Monastery in Prague On 22–23 May 2025, an international colloquium was held at the Emmaus Abbey in Prague, summarising the findings of conservation and scientific investigations carried out on the mural paintings located in the cloister of the monastery. The research was conducted using the most advanced methods currently available in the field, some of which had not previously been applied in the Czech Republic at this level of quality. In addition to presenting the results of the investigations, the participants also discussed possibilities for the further preservation and presentation of the Emmaus murals. The colloquium featured presentations by renowned experts in the fields of conservation and heritage protection from both the Czech Republic and abroad. Among them were, for example, the German heritage specialist Dr. phil. Dörthe Jakobs from Leitung Fachgebiet Restaurierung (a.D.), Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Baden-Württemberg, and the Italian conservator Alberto Felici from the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio per la città metropolitana di Firenze e le province di Pistoia e Prato. The project involves two German higher education institutions—Technische Hochschule Köln and Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart—together with the Czech Faculty of Restoration of the University of Pardubice. The project is entitled “Concept for the Preventive Conservation, Stabilisation and Preservation of the Cycle of Mural Paintings in the Cloister Walk of the Emmaus Monastery in Prague,” which clearly indicates its overall focus. The project is funded by the German foundation Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (German Federal Environmental Foundation). Although the foundation primarily supports scientific projects in the field of environmental research, it also finances research with a similar focus in the area of cultural heritage. The mural paintings under investigation are located in Prague, in the cloister of the Emmaus Monastery (Na Slovanech).
