The main aim of the project is to elaborate in detail the topic of Renaissance and Mannerist stucco in the period up to 1620 in our territory, which is currently significantly undervalued in terms of conservation and artistic-craft practice. The aim is to treat the subject in all its aspects in the form of interdisciplinary research based on the cooperation of historical disciplines, conservationists and restorers with the support of the natural science sector. The cataloguing of artistically valuable stucco works on the territory of the Czech Republic will be the starting point for a synthetic treatment of the art-historical and technological development of stucco not only in our territory, but also for its inclusion in the Central European context. The information obtained through the analysis of sources, older restoration documentation, photographs and other records will help to map historical repairs and interventions.
