Annotation
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of teaching restoration in Litomyšl, we would like to look back at what point restoration, cultural heritage preservation as well as education in the field have reached in the past quarter-century. Regarding the school in Litomyšl, it has obviously undergone a significant development; it was affected by several factors, such as the gradual growth of the institution and its transformation into a faculty as a part of the University of Pardubice, but also by the general development of the Czech Republic which had been in the process of incorporation in the free European environment.
The past quarter-century has been characterized by the development of the field of resto- ration as a whole not only in Litomyšl and the Czech Republic but also all over the world. Restoration has become more closely interconnected with other areas of human activity, such as technical branches, humanities or science. The main motif, as well as the aim of the conference, is to promote such development and current trends in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
Topics
- new theories and approaches in the field of cultural heritage preservation
- innovative procedures, methods and technologies in the care of tangible cultural heritage
- estoration and cultural heritage preservation in the past, today and in the future
- pitfalls of restoration and cultural heritage preservation (What would I do in a better way now?)
