Theoretical and practical training in the Graphic Workshop is a part of the teaching of the first to third years of the Ateliers of Restoration and Conservation of Book Binding and Documents and Restoration of Works of Art on Paper. Students are gradually introduced to the basics and history of classical printmaking techniques, starting with printing from the top to intaglio techniques. The goal of the course is to master the techniques and understand the laws of printmaking and the craftsmanship associated with these techniques. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the historical development of printmaking techniques. The student should have a theoretical understanding of the basic methods of printing art printmaking techniques, be able to place a printmaking technique in the appropriate historical period, and be familiar with the process of printmaking technology from the printing plate to the impression.
