The two-year master's study builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in the bachelor's study in theoretical and independent restoration work on specific works. The master's study is focused on deepening and extending the acquired knowledge applied to figurative and non-figurative works of art, with special attention to fine art works as part of architecture. The programme is expanded to include the problems of polychromy, monochromy and other surface treatments of artworks, and the specifics of the artwork understood as part of architecture. Emphasis is placed on the consistent professional mastery of the activities performed according to specific assignments, e.g. on artistically valuable figurative works, works of art that have undergone complex development, works that have been repeatedly restored or works in situ in complicated environments in relation to architecture. During the realization of the master's thesis, the student plans their activities independently and consults all procedures with the supervising teacher and selected consultants. All of this is directed towards the main goal of the study, to acquire, in addition to highly specialized knowledge and skills, a broad and high-quality comprehensive overview of the interdisciplinary aspects of the field of restoration and conservation of works of art and evidence of past culture.
