During the 3rd year, students get their first continuous training in restoration techniques. The basics of the restoration approach have already been partially acquired during the previous two summer internships, which take place after the end of each year except for the graduate years (4th year of the Bachelor's degree and 2nd year of the Master's degree). For the first time, however, the students go through a complete and comprehensive process including a detailed survey, its subsequent evaluation, the creation of a restoration plan
and subsequent restoration intervention. The survey is always carried out in collaboration with both theoretical departments, i.e. the Department of Humanities and the Department of Chemical Technology. Of course, the training includes all the necessary documentation processes, including the production of the final restoration report. Students always carry out the restoration on so-called "live objects" (i.e. mostly in the field), while some tests may also be carried out in the studio or laboratory on test bodies or panels.
