On 3-4 April 2025, the General Assembly of ENCoRE (European Network for Conservation-Restoration Education) took place at the Faculty of Restoration, University of Pardubice. ENCoRE brings together European universities in the field of conservation and restoration.  The General Assembly was attended by representatives of many prestigious universities in this field, this year from Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. During the Assembly, current issues of education of conservators and restorers were addressed, and a new Board was elected. Likewise, two new members accepted: Université Paris 1/Panthéon-Sorbonne, and the University of Dubrovnik. The programme of the assembly also included a tour of the Faculty of Restoration, during which individual studios and departments were introduced, as well as their research and conservation-restoration projects.

On April 5, the General Assembly was followed by a Symposium of ENCoRE and E.C.C.O. (European Confederation of Conservator-Restorers Organisation) named “Specialisations: Trends and Challenges in Conservation-Restoration Education”. It took place in Prague at the Emmaus Abbey. Many important topics related to the further development of conservation-restoration education were presented and discussed. Both organizations agreed on the need to continue the discussions raised.
